A Different Mexico is a lyrical video journal by poet Justin Spring. It records his very personal reactions to the very peculiar soul of a small, dusty Mexican town called Alamos, which is Spanish for cottonwood. Founded in colonial times, the town, which is nestled high in the mountains of the Sonoran desert, is so remote that it has retained its slow, soulful pace ever since the silver mines went dry near the end of the nineteenth century. He still owns a home in Alamos with poet Joan Adley.
